It has been almost three years since I released my first solo album “Landsphere”, produced all by myself.
However, when I asked Ruben Claessens - Isarin to make a new mix of one of those songs, which I personally thought could be better mixed, I became aware again of the fact that it often works better if you have your music mixed by someone else. Someone with an objective look who knows how to convey the right feeling with the music I recorded.

So here's a new version of “Burning Ships”, the 5th track of this album.
The ideas for this song come directly from “Burning Heart” and “Sailing Ships”, two songs written by Adje Vandenberg, a great source of inspiration to me.
It also represents a period in my life where I made some personal changes and started a new chapter.

Now I would like to have all my songs/albums remixed, but of course that takes a lot of time and therefore money. For that I will have to save up first and if you want to help me make this happen, you can do that by becoming a patron on my Patreon site.

Drifting Ice was initially also inspired by my Telecaster.
During the corona lockdown I took the time to readjust this guitar and if it turns out that it worked well, it immediately gives inspiration for new songs, as if it were a new guitar.
The music seemed to fit well with the video images I made in February 2021 of drifting ice in Stavoren, a small town in Friesland located on the IJsselmeer, where I often went windsurfing.
Recently Erik Schenkel played a nice drum part again and I am very happy with the result.
